14 Kindergarten centres to be set up in JK soon

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 18 (KNO) : Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah along with Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G.N. Itoo today toured many schools in the district Srinagar and took a comprehensive stock of development works going on in these institutions and arrangements being made for the upgradation of SIE Kashmir and all the DIETs.

He directed the concerned officials to expedite the works so that they are completed within the stipulated deadline as set by Minister for Education. Secretary Education visited DIET Srinagar and SIE Kashmir at Bemina and took stock of the construction works going on there. He asked Director School Education Kashmir to develop a Unique Divisional Level model herbal garden in SIE Kashmir to add to the beauty of the Institute. He directed the officials from the engineering wing of the Department to accelerate the construction works in the Institute and also make sure the availability of all the facilities in the auditorium of SIE Kashmir.

Talking about the steps being taken for the education of specially-abled children in the State, Secretary Education said that special centres will be established in every district for the education of these children and a special master trainers group for purpose shall be trained at SIE Kashmir so that they can work at district level and monitor the functioning of these centres for such children. During his visit to High school Sonwar, Secretary Education announced that during the current session 14 Kindergarten centres shall be established in the State with 7 each in Jammu and Srinagar.

Director School Education briefed Shah about the arrangements for the upgradation of all the DIETs. Executive Engineer, Division First, Engineering Wing of Department Hashim-ud-Din, Deputy Chief Education Officer Srinagar Mudasir Kaleem Fazili and other officers of the Department also accompanied the Secretary Education.(KNO)
